Investigation Notes:
We started the
evening with a prayer and asking the Spirits if they wouldn't mind if we
were there from them. We let them know that we were there to learn from
them and mean absolutely no disrespect. We are there to do research
only. We then started off doing base readings with the EMF detector, the infrared
thermometer, and digital thermometer. This is not a large cemetery at
all. The moon was 97% full, so we had a lot of light. The IR thermometer
base readings were at 38°-42°
as the sun was going
down. When we were past sunset, the temperatures dropped slowly and
continuously.
As the
investigation went on, and continuously checking the digital thermometer
for temperatures, we were using the EMF meter. The meter jumped in
certain areas and around grave sites. The meter spiked from 0.0 to 2.0.
While these spikes were happening, the IR thermometer went down to 12°-13°.
This was what we were looking for!!! When we found these spikes, we took
pictures.
There is 1 grave
site that is fairly fresh of a young man at the age of 12. His name is
Joshua. He died of Leukemia in May of 2006. He doesn't have a headstone,
just a marble picture frame of a poem and flowers and odds and ends for
a shrine. I've met his mother while I was doing an afternoon
investigation 5 days previously. My heart truly goes out to him and his
family. This is where we got the most activity on the EMF meter and the
IR thermometer. Please see picture number 4.
Look at picture number 2 Bright Orb I Saw With The Naked Eye!, picture
number 3, it has a blue/green colored orb that is above the headstone.
It's actually pretty neat to see!
If you look at
picture number 3 Look at The Blue/Green Orb Above Headstone!, you will see multiple orbs, but most of all, 1 orb
that is in the middle of the picture. This is the brightest orb and I
saw it with the naked eye as I was taking the picture. This was
remarkable to see and it felt so triumphant. It not only proves that
Spirits can take energy and make themselves into a ball of light, but it
also verifies that what I saw with the naked eye is actually in a
picture!
In picture number 1 Moving Orb on The Rt Side & A Man's Face in The Middle Top!, this is actually the last picture of the evening. Towards the
top right hand side of the picture, you see a slow moving orb. Towards
the top and the middle of the picture, you see a face of which looks
like a man to me. And, it has 5 more orbs within the picture. All of
them are all close together in a cluster.
We left at 7:00pm and
the outside temperature was 34°. We closed with a prayer and thanking
the Spirits for letting us be there with them.
**NOTE: The pictures that
are above in text form are the same pictures that are to the right.**
Final
Thoughts:
This is a very peaceful cemetery with active Spirits who wish
to communicate. I am still going through the EVP evidence. When I got
the 35MM film developed, there wasn't anything on the film. The girl at
the developing place said that happens when the film is loaded in
backwards from the manufacturer. We were really bummed that this has
happened as I know there would of been great pics on this roll of film!
Over all, we did
feel as though we were being watched and there wasn't any Spirits that
were malicious at all. Like I said, we felt as though it is a very
peaceful cemetery and if you go to investigate, good luck, have fun, and
please be respectful of the dead!!!
Thank you,

Historical
Information:
Ward Family Cemetery:
On top of a wooded hill in Zirconia near Lake Summit can be found at
least 14 fieldstones in the Ward Family Cemetery. One of the headstones
is a hand-carved, elaborate stone: Clinton Ward, Oct. 4, 1836, Jan. 20,
1889. It is propped against a tree and may not be on the site of Ward's
actual grave.
Most of the grave markers in the cemetery have been moved. There are 5
rows that are visual and 1-2 rows in the woods and briars directly
behind the last row of headstones. "It looks as if loggers may have been
through here at one time," said Michael Arrowood, a member of the
Henderson County Cem-etery Advisory Committee and the local chapter of
the Sons of Confederate Veterans.
There are five rows of graves and a row or two in the woods behind the
last row. In the middle of one of the rows are two new, modern flat
markers: Ethel, 1989-2000, and Gladys, 1989-2003. These were children's
pets, said property owner Theodore W. Gage.
Gage said he has owned the property for about 10 years, buying it from
Walter Montgomery Sr. In tracing back property deed transfers, the
property was owned by the Lake Summit Corp., who bought it from J.O.
Bell, who bought it from Elias C. Ward and wife, Hattie, in 1914.
With the assistance of volunteers at the Henderson County Historical and
Genealogical Society, it was found that Clinton Ward and his wife, Ellen
Revis, had at least four sons: Elias Clinton, Joseph Benjamin, John and
R.E. Ward. No mention of the cemetery could be found in deeds.
It is known that the ancestor of most of the Wards in Henderson County,
Bartlett Ward, born 1806, had a son named Hezekiah Clinton Ward, born
Oct. 4, 1836, died Jan. 20, 1889. Bartlett Ward, who married Nancy
Morgan and lived in the Bob's Creek area of southern Henderson County,
was a son of American Revolutionary War veteran William Ward.
The cemetery is off the North Lake Summit Road from the U.S. 176 area,
near the intersection with Smyre Road. Gage requests that family members
and others interested in the cemetery contact him before visiting.
The cemetery has not been placed on the county's GIS cemetery layer, but
it is listed in Henderson County, N.C. Cemeteries.
